Because he had made derogatory comments on social media against Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and his family members. Ramu had to appear before the police for questioning in this case but he did not go.

Objectionable things said against CM

Ram Gopal Varma had written controversial things on the social media platform. A case has been registered against Ram in Maddipadu police station under section 336 (4) and 353 (2) of BNS Act and section 67 of IT Act. On November 13, the police issued a notice to Ram Gopal Varma and directed him to appear before the investigating officer in Maddipadu police station.

After this, Ram had approached the Andhra Pradesh High Court, but the court refused to grant him interim relief. The court said that it cannot give the same order as the bail petition. Ram, refusing to appear before the investigating officer, had demanded exemption and sought an interim order for this. When Ram’s lawyer told the court that he was in danger of arrest, the court said that the petitioner should file a bail petition.
